My View: (Courtesy of Danelle Johns with Our-Wolves-Den)
This was a fabulous book to listen to, as I usually shy away from audio books. The premise of the book deals with how most young people deal with a dysfunctional family life, they work on ways to get out. Honestly, I am sure it might shock some people how Rowan is treated, but I unfortunately have seen my fair share of severe dysfunction. Rowan’s plan is to successfully complete school which will help secure her path to leaving her family behind, as a bad memory.
I connected the hopelessness that Rowan must have felt with a family that blamed her for something that was not in her control, no matter what she herself believes. Rowan is a very strong character throughout the whole story. You will see how the author has put so much into each character, as they all are memorable- good and bad.
Many thanks to Our-Wolves-Den for having me today.
